Memorial Day
Today was Memorial Day, a day of remembering those who fought in the Wars to protect our way of life. I do very much respect that and I am very grateful to those who came before me. We owe them so much.
It is also a federal holiday which means that the stock market was closed here in the US. I think that is a good thing to give us the time to reflect on the privileges that we have in this country and show our gratitude.
I am expecting a very volatile week in the market and will probably not even look at what is happening. Many people are making plans for the SpaceX IPO that is coming and maybe soon OpenAI and Anthropic. I don’t think I’ll be able to afford any of it, so I will just be watching from the cheap seats.
I wasn’t able to watch any of the news today, so I don’t know if Iran has opened up the Strait of Hormuz yet. There was talk about an agreement, but I think I heard that our president didn’t accept it again, so the Strait will probably still be closed in the morning.
I didn’t get to see the news because I spent a delightful afternoon and evening with my Son and his wife having a bit of a barbecue. I’ll skip the news any day for that opportunity.
We’ll see what this next week goes on, but I don’t think I will see much action.
