TSMC is the company that makes a large portion of the semiconductor chips for the AI and all other industries. They have the equipment that actually creates the chips for Nvidia and AMD as well as others.
The equipment that they use is more sophisticated than other foundry companies. While they have recently opened a plant in the US, most of their operation is in Thailand. There is a push to get all the chips made in the US which is why Intel is trying to make their own foundry but TSMC is way ahead of them in technology.
It is an important company in the AI supply chain and would be a great addition to a complete supply chain grouping of stocks for AI.
