It is Sunday Evening
I read a lot of articles and watch a lot of videos on the weekends. I can’t do much except plan for the upcoming week, so I try to review what is happening and make some plans. I don’t know that I want to do too much but I know I really should.
I am stuck between trying to find something new to invest in, or find some in the portfolio already to bump up a little. When these stocks are down, I sometimes like to add to my positions in some of the underwater ones. It improves my cost basis and helps to make the stock move more when it starts to pick up.
I get disappointed a lot in the articles and videos because some of them are really old. Most of them are also just advertisements anyway. But sometimes I hear about some stocks or ETFs that I wasn’t aware of. Usually they aren’t quite what is represented in the articles or videos though because the information is for 6 months or a year or two ago. Then the article ends up by saying that if you really want to know what a good stock is, join our club and pay us money.
The headline says “The best stock to buy today!” and they tell you about a stock and at the end say “just kidding!” Makes me mad!
Anyway, I heard that Iran made an offer to our president who turned it down. It didn’t match what he wanted, I guess. So they have started the threats up again. I don’t get why the president keeps saying that it will get resolved after the elections, but that’s his excuse.
So all that is kind of on hold for now. I can’t worry about that now.
Interest Rates
The FED raised interest rates a little while ago, and I noticed today that the interest rate on my money market went up! That happened faster than I thought it would. Just a tenth of a percent, but I’ll take it.
Well, I’ve got no good plan made yet for this upcoming week, so I’ll just look harder in the morning.
