Has anyone else noticed?
I keep seeing these negative political advertisements that say things like “you can’t vote for him, he likes Data Centers!” It’s like the new dirty word. Yet at the same time the president is saying that Data Centers and AI is the answer to our world economy.
I agree that Data Centers should not cause any issues with a community’s power bills, or water problems, etc. Whatever they cause, they should pay for, and that includes additional infrastructure. Makes me wonder, did my electric bills go up because of the group of townhouses just got built down the street? I would think those people pay their own bills and if extra lines and power stations are needed, they need to absorb that cost not me. I would just as soon not have those townhouses either!
But I’ve seen both parties putting out ads saying that the other guy wants to put Data Centers in your back yard. And they make it sound like the devil himself created data centers so anyone who wants to encourage Artificial Intelligence is evil and should be struck down by God!
It’s just a talking point, and I am ignoring it for the time being but I just think it’s funny that the president is pushing it and his party is saying it’s disgusting.
