Sometimes you look at your prescription bottles and knowing how much you pay for that crazy thing, even after the insurance does its thing, you just want to own a bit of the company. That’s what happened with Pfizer. They make Eliquis (along with Bristol-Myer Squibb) so I got a few shares of them.
Naturally, they went into the red in my portfolio almost right away and stayed there until just recently when they managed to come out. They also pay a pretty healthy dividend, so even if they are a dollar down from what I paid, I still make out pretty well.
But they seem to be doing better now, and keeping up with the news, they just bought a company that will be working out good as far as I can tell, so I’m looking forward to great things.
