I was looking for a cool stock to set my grandkids up with to try to get them excited about investing. I thought it would be cool for them to know that they own part of the company that makes Mr. Coffee, NUK and especially Sharpie. I know they like to draw and they use Sharpies.
Besides, getting them started early gives them the chance I didn’t have of time to let things grow. I’m still waiting on the information to set them up in the brokerage though. I can set one up that I control until they turn 21 which gives them some time for me to start them off with a portfolio.
Anyway, as I poured my cup of coffee this morning from my Mr. Coffee I smiled at knowing that I own some of that company. They also have several kid items like strollers and such, and other kitchen items like blenders so it’s a company I can see me using several products of and in fact, I have been using them for years.
