It’s been a few days, and it’s been interesting. I added 2 new stocks to my portfolio, one I consider to be speculative, and the other is something I have been wanting to buy for a long time and should have done it back when I first thought it was a good idea!

ONDAS INC. is my speculative stock pick. It is a company that makes smaller drones that are used by companies to survey situations around their properties, but there is some defense money that may come their way as well. They are a very volatile stock and climb and fall a lot but they are only around the 12 dollar range per share. I paid $12.45 per share, and it went to over 13 but ended the day around $12.17. It went up and down several times and was kind of entertaining.

The other stock was Micron. Yeah, I have been wanting to get them since I started. In the world of AI of course memory and hard drives are areas that are needed to put into all those server boxes going into data centers. I bought Western Digital for the hard drive side some time ago now and just bought Micron for the memory side. I could not afford a large share but I wanted to get something just to be a part.

I have had a time looking at HIMMS which is a healthcare company that has been supplying a low dose GLP-1 medication which is the weight loss medication that has been getting a lot of attention. I was going to bail on them but for the time being I am just holding. My issue is that a lot of other companies are jumping on this low dose GLP-1 thing including Weight Watchers who has a bigger following. So the competition is growing and I just don’t have high hopes for the stock to go higher. But there are other things happening in the company that might drive things up so I won’t buy more but I will stay for the time being.

I have a big disappointment in HPE which is the Enterprise portion of HP (not printers and stuff you get at Staples) and i thought that they would get a chunk of the AI data center build out, but it seems like they are just not grabbing hold. I haven’t been able to determine why.

FMC is still my biggest loser, and that’s ok, I guess. They are starting to climb but I am worried because a few of their chemicals are coming off patent which means that competition is going to kick in soon. Still, I like the company, and I want to stay a part of it.

The president has backed off on his threats to attack Greenland, and some people say it was just a distraction to take away headlines about the Epstein Files, but I don’t know. I think he just doesn’t think in terms of Win-Win deals. But either way, it has released some of the tension in the market. I have a funny feeling though, that it isn’t the last time there will be that kind of tension.

I did invest in a International equity ETF to gain some exposure to stocks that aren’t US based. It’s looking like international (mostly Europe and Asian) stocks are going to do better than US stocks, but I have doubts, so an ETF seemed like a good way to start.

It looks like Nvidia and Palantir are starting to come back to life. I didn’t sell out like a lot of folks did, so I am hopeful this is a good sign. Probably I should get some Microsoft stocks for maybe more Amazon stocks but for now I am happy where I am at.

It is snowing like crazy out and there is supposed to be ice storms coming after. I don’t like shoveling snow and my heart conditions says I shouldn’t do it, but there will be some that I need to do. Yuck! But this is supposed to be the biggest storm for 5 years. We are hunkering down and I am spending my time doing research.
