The weekend is over, and the coming week is going to be interesting. Last week, CES the tech trade show was in full force out in Las Vegas. I really miss going to that show. It is without a doubt a tech guy’s dream. It’s impossible to keep up with all the innovations that are going on, and try to sort out which ones will win the next race. And there are so many races. Big buzz words are Robot, Autonomous, AI, and pretty wild glasses of all kinds to feed information to you, including watches and rings too. It’s going to take some time for things to shake out, I think.

Of course, Invidia and AMD were big news, but I think that the biggest news was Intel. They have released products with the new Panther Lake CPU with its 18A technology. I got some information on how that all works, and I have to admit, it’s impressive. I need to process the information more before I can describe it to anyone. I think that if they can push this 18A technology it is going to be a groundbreaking moment for them.

I was a little too busy over the weekend to think much about the stock market, to be honest. I know that very little happens to the market over the weekend because the market is closed, but now it’s Monday and I expect to see some crazy things happen. For today, I’m going to keep my wallet in my back pocket, and watch how things play out. I’m thinking that if I do anything this week, it will be to increase some of my current holdings rather than buying new stocks.

It seems like our president is pushing for more takeovers and more battles with other countries. So far, he has threatened Cuba, Mexico, and Columbia (though not much on Columbia). He is also sounding very serious on Greenland. I really don’t think he needs to take military action there. I am pretty sure that his goal is more about the minerals than the strategic location, but he has to have an excuse, I guess. I think he could just make a good deal with them, rather than trying to become the king of Greenland. But I have no input on that level, so I can only watch and wait.

Minerals are going to be a big problem that needs to be addressed somehow. All these chips and stuff that he wants made in the US will require a certain control of the minerals. Not just oil, though that is important, but all these other things that are required with names I cannot pronounce.

Nuclear Power got a big boost with an announcement from Meta that is starting to fund companies in that field. I know that Nuclear is a great way to provide power and in my heart, I see it as a big solution to our power problems, I am just still very afraid of it. I am old enough to remember 3 Mile Island and the week of fear that it brought to the country. Also there have been situations in other countries including Japan and Russia with their reactors. I am nervous about it, but hopefully we have learned our lessons from the past.

Tensions are high with the protests in Iran, and the president talking about attacking them again, and I heard something about an attack in Samalia, I think it was. Might have been Smyrna, though I didn’t get enough information about it. Some military action that was taken, and it bothers me that we need to do these things.

All that said, there is something to be said for investing in defense companies that will be providing the required items for the military actions. Not that I know anything about them, but it seems like there is something to be said about it. Anyway, tension in the country is ramping up. We can see this in our store as more and more people are looking for ways to reduce anxiety.

Michael is not an advisor or analyst. He is just a beginner at all this stock stuff. He just doesn't have anyone to share his excitement about all the stuff he is learning so he is putting all this information here.
