FNILX $24.80
I wanted to try my hand at getting into index funds. I found out that on the Fidelity Brokerage, you could get some index funds that had no expense ratio. That sounded like the right price to me! I like spending zero!
I wanted to test these funds by putting the same amount into both of them and see which one did better over time. I chose this one which is the large cap index, and the other was the total market index.
Turns out they both dropped the same amount! Yes, they dropped almost immediately after I bought them. Typical, it happens that way for me. I think that the universe is conspiring against me.
They have started to come back up and I am close to breaking even now, but they stay very close together, and that makes sense. While the other one will probably have more stocks being followed, the ratios are a bit different too.
I will continue to watch and see if there is much difference, but I think they will react the same way, since they are close to the same, and the driving stocks that are affecting the stock price, are pretty much the same in both, they will follow. Now I just have to determine if they are worth keeping.
Because this is a Fidelity account only fund, I cannot put up a chart.
