BRISTOL-MYERS SQUIBB COMPANY

BMY $51.84

Looking at the side of my Eliquis prescription bottle (yeah, I have AFIB), I saw two names. Bristol-Myers Squib and Pfizer.

When I was growing up there were two big companies that I passed by frequently. One was J and J and the other was Squibb. As a young high schooler, I thought those would be a couple of places I might look for employment.

I’m not sure when Bristol-Myers and Squibb merged, but I’m pretty sure it was after I moved out of the area.

Since their name showed up on my Eliquis bottle which I pay a lot of money for (and I mean a lot of money!), I decided to own a bit of the company.

It has not been my brightest star in my portfolio. It dropped in price right after I bought them and I don’t think they have ever come back to the price I paid. They pay a pretty good dividend though, so I don’t see any reason to get rid of it. In face, I might just buy a little more.
