I thought I was going to be saved today. I checked around 10:30 this morning and everything was up! I got excited!
For instance, AMD went up like 6 dollars, and even Nvidia was up several dollars. I thought we were rebounding.
Silly me!
I had a busy day and didn’t get to check again until almost 5pm and guess what happened. Yup, everything dropped back down. Most of them didn’t go as far as they had gone up, so AMD came down 4 dollars but there was no real rebound like I wanted.
The worst part is that it seems to be all across the portfolio. It wasn’t just the tech stocks, but it was healthcare, communications, and even general household. As I went down the list, it was down, down, down, up a penny, down, down. It was crazy. Fortunately most of them have a long way to go before they actually cost me (what I call going into the red) in my portfolio, but still it’s disturbing.
I know that people talk about the AI bubble, and I think that the big part of it has burst. Or at least gotten a slow leak. I guess it’s about time. I’m happy with my positions where they are, and I am resisting buying any more stocks. I think it’s just time to lay back and let things happen for a while. I like the companies that I have. I do want to have a few more Coke maybe and correct my Exxon Mobil stock so I match Chevron with 2 shares each. But I will have to do that sometime when the market is open and I keep missing it. Like today, I had to run right after my first look to get to the store this morning, and so much happened here that I didn’t get to look again until the market closed.
That happened to me yesterday too. I look up and it’s 4:30, and I’ve missed it. Maybe tomorrow. Stocks usually float down on Fridays. We’ll see.
